Reason #2 for feeling stuck: You don’t have QUALITY QUIET TIME

Reason #2 for feeling stuck: You don’t have QUALITY QUIET TIME

Here’s something else I had to learn on the road to becoming successful.  I had quiet time but it had become routine.  I also didn’t understand the benefits or recognize the nuggets I received during or after my quiet time.

There were also some days where I convinced myself that I didn’t have time for quiet time or my time with God because I was in a hurry.

Does this sound familiar?

“I just don’t have time!”

How many times have you said that?

What I want you to understand is that quiet time or your time with God is an investment.  That means that you get back a lot more than you put in.

However, in order for you to understand that you are going to have to make the investment yourself.  So I want to encourage you to start small.  Start with just 5-10 minutes, then increase it after a month or after you feel comfortable.

How I created quality quiet time?

My quiet time used to consist of a prayer and maybe reading something.

Now my quiet time often consists of a combination of several of the following:

  •  prayer,
  • meditation on the Word of God,
  • visualization of what I want to do for the day or
  • visualizing myself living out the word I meditated on,
  • listening for the Holy Spirit
  • quiet time when I’m not thinking and not praying
  • going to the beach and enjoying the breeze, the sound of the ocean,
  • the presence of God there
  • going to a park and walking
  • sitting on my lanai and soaking up the sun

I have also started incorporating quiet time in the middle of my busy day as well. It helps me to be clearer and more focused.

I will tell you that after a few months of doing this the Holy Spirit started to go to work in a greater way because I was starting to line up with His Word (because I was meditating not just reading God’s Word) and I started getting the clients I wanted, connecting with the right joint venture partnerships and companies and operating in bolder faith. Isaiah 30:15 says “…in quietness and trust is your strength….”

If you just started 5 or 10 minutes a day where you think nothing, say nothing, do nothing (not even pray, just let the Holy Spirit minister to you) you’ll be surprised how clear things will start to get for you.

Then start to pray and meditate Or maybe just enjoy the sunshine or enjoy doing nothing

In the gospels, it shows us how Jesus would slip out from a crowd, or go off by Himself to spend it with our Heavenly Father.  If Jesus needed quiet time, don’t you think that you need quiet time?

Quiet time gives your brain opportunity to rest and process things.  It also gives you an opportunity to hear what the Holy Spirit or your mind has been trying to tell you but you are just not hearing because there is too much white noise (that’s the crazy, busy schedule that you have and all the different voices and opinions that you hear)

I can’t tell you how many times I hear people say I don’t have time, I really have a very busy schedule.  Well that might be true, but I’m just asking you to be still for 5-10 minutes in a 24 hour period.

It’s an investment that will pay back major dividends in your spiritual and natural life.

I spend more quiet time and I find that it helps me to make the right choices, select the right task to do next and connect me with the right people.

Taking 5 or 10 minutes in the midst of your day, will help bring more order to your overwhelming busy schedule and draw you closer to God’s Spirit.

Solution: My book Knuggets of Knowledge to Get Unstuck was written in such a way to support you in your quiet time.  The chapters are no more than 2 pages long and at the end of each chapter is a Making It Personal section.  In this section, I ask you key questions that can help you bring what is lurking and has you stuck in your subconscious then bring it to your conscious level so that you can deal with it.

Reason #1 for feeling stuck: You use FEAR to make your decisions

Reason #1 for feeling stuck: You use FEAR to make your decisions

This was one of the major problems holding back my success.

I would pray.
God would give me an answer in various ways, whether it
was through a person, His Holy Word, a song, something I was reading, a situation or opportunity, but if it didn’t show up in a way where there was no major effort or

where I could just walk into it easily then I would start with the mental stories.

What will people say if….?

Is this God or is this me?

How am I going to get the money together to do this?

Can I really do this?

woman afraid

These were voices of fear showing up in the form of a question or excuse.

And boy was I good at it.
I had some very detailed and intelligent reasons why I couldn ‘t do what God wanted me to do.

Remember Moses?

He came up with every excuse and question as to why He couldn’t possibly do what God asked him to do.

“What if they will not believe me or listen to what I say?” [Exodus 4:1 NASB]

“Please, Lord, I have never been eloquent, neither recently not in time past, nor since Thou hast spoken to Thy servant; for I am slow of speech and slow of tongue.” [Exodus 4:10 NASB]

Thankfully the Lord is patient with us.
He wouldn’t give up on Moses and He won’t give up on you.

Look what wonderful experiences and relationship with the Lord Moses
would have missed if he had not taken his first steps with fear.

One of the main reasons why you are feeling stuck is because you are allowing

your fear to drive your decisions instead of learning to make your decisions by faith.

Here’s how I handle it now.

When I have to make a major change, I pray and I listen to my spirit.

If the Holy Spirit drops something in my spirit that I am afraid to do or don’t want to do, you can be sure that my flesh and Satan will start to question and give me reason why I can not do it.

I have learned to recognize that and I immediately make a decision to do what the Holy Spirit or my faith is saying to do, regardless of how it feels.

That is key.

Stop living your life by how you feel.

The bible says in II Corinthians 5:7 to walk by faith not by sight

(and I’ll add not by how you feel)

Yes, you will have a nervous tummy and sweaty palms
but you have to take the first step to press past your fear,
then God will help you with the rest.

You will continue to be stuck this time next year –again,
if you do not decide that even if you don’t see where the money is coming from, or even if no one is supporting you, or even if it doesn’t make sense, you are still going to walk by faith not by sight or should I say by your fear.

A Tangible Solution:

In an effort to support you in getting unstuck, I am offering my book Knuggets of Knowledge to Get Unstuck for $10 plus shipping and handling for this week only! It’s normally $14.95 plus shipping but I want to give you a little nudge towards stepping out on faith.

It’s the last week of the quarter and coming up to Easter, so I want to move you past your fear and a step closer to your destiny.

Do You Know How to Manage Your Energy?

Do You Know How to Manage Your Energy?

Each day we make choices and perform actions that contribute to or drain our internal energy. There are many contributors to building our energy, but we’ll only touch on a few in this section. What we think can energize us or drain us. What we eat can energize us or drain us. What we do can energize us or drain us. There are many things that can contribute to or drain our energy. I will touch on some of those things and discuss how we can learn to focus more on energy builders instead of focusing on the energy drainers.

Exercise, food, people, things we watch and read or listen to are all things that can either drain or energize us. How we manage those things is up to us.

FOCUS
The important thing is to focus.
Focus on the things that are positive and eventually the good things will manifest in your life. The same happens for the negative. It’s very simple. However, it is a choice that you –and you alone– have to make in your life.

2 MINUTE RULE
Take 2 minutes to breath deep or to pause. Its a short time yet it will make a powerful impact in your life. Taking 2 minutes can be the difference between you making a choice that you regret for life, or making a choice that is a seed that is being planted into your destiny and future. It’s time to make the right choices for your energy sake.

Operating at Higher Energy Levels
Learning how to manage our internal energy, can help us in aligning our minds and achieving our goals. When we are operating in our high level energies (faith based emotions – love, joy, peace, etc.), we feel a clearer connection with our positive energy flow. When we operate in our higher level energies, it is easier for us to hear and receive Divine Guidance. When we allow God to guide us, we are in a state of peace and our energy is greater. We then have a greater energy flow. When we are in lower level energies (fear based emotions – anger, worry, fear, etc.), then we feel less than a clear connection with our energy flow. That DOES NOT mean that we don’t have a connection with God, it just means we are not feeling the connection.

Think of God as your Ultimate Coach. He is your greatest energy source. What can you do to tap into this GREAT energy source today? Think of it this way. When we are operating at higher levels of energy we think clearer, our spiritual ear is often sharper, we have more peace and are better equipped to receive the guidance we need to move forward. Use your Ultimate Coach, that Great Energy source, to help align your mind and support you in achieving your goals.

Is Your Faith Talk Your Faith Walk?

“Well, our ancestor Abraham pleased God by putting his son Isaac on the altar to sacrifice him.  Now you see how Abraham’s faith and deeds worked together.  He proved that his faith was real by what he did.”  James 2:21,22 The Message Bible

In December of last year, God dropped in my spirit the endless possibilities that He had for my business.  He showed me where He wanted to take it this year 2011.  I was so excited and was in a place – spiritually and emotionally – where I believed what He was showing me.   So I started to confess it and thank Him for what is to come.  I shared it with key people, people that I know pray for me.  Over a month later, I woke up one morning, and the spirit shared something profound that I want to share with you.

My faith talk was expressing my belief in what God had shown me but my actions were not.  My actions were reflecting my old way of thinking.  In order to get what God was showing me in my spirit, my actions had to change in the natural.  I was not going to go to the level God showed me, if my actions didn’t change to produce the results I needed.  I needed to do something different and more than what was done last year.  You may have believed God for something last year that never occurred and you may have been wondering why you believed God for it.

But lets put last year where it belongs—in the past.  Today is a new day.  Do the following to exercise your faith and make your faith visible to yourself and others:

  1. Write down what your faith is telling you in your situation
  2. Now write down the actions that match the belief
  3. Don’t allow your fears to cloud your actions
  4. Now be courageous and do what you have written down.

This is faith in action.
Today choose to turn your faith into action.
Let me know how you do with this! J

3 Powerful Steps to a Social Media Marketing Mindset

3 Powerful Steps to a Social Media Marketing Mindset

Most people that you talk to are participating in social media for one reason or another.  I’ve met many people that are beginning to feel overwhelmed by the whole thing, so I thought I’d share 3 powerful tips to participate in social media.  Whether you are using Facebook, LinkedIn or Twitter to reconnect with old high school buddies, meet new people or build a business, I want to share 3 powerful tips.

These tips are especially for those of you that are building a business so please pay close attention and take notes.

1. Build Relationships.   Word of mouth is your best marketing tool in business.  And people remember those who they know.  My sister has started a mediation practice and of course whe is the first person I think of when someone mentions conflict resolution.  I have a friend who owns a web design/graphic design business and when someone needs a web designer, he is the first one that I mention [not just because he's a friend but also because he's good! :-) ]  People remember those who are a part of their lives.  Be a part of the social media conversation.  You don’t have to build relationships with all 5 million, but select a few and get to know them.  Which brings me to my second point.

2. Be Consistent and Sincere. Be consistent and sincere in your sharing and supporting.  Enjoy it.  Have fun with it.  Share valueable information that can support and encourage.  Be sincere and be consistent.  Once a month is not going to build a relationship.  Daily or several times a week will.

3. Have a Plan.  This is probably one of the most important.  It is very easy to get lost in social media and end up there for hours.  That is why you need to have a plan before you go in.  Are you going to be in there for 15 minutes or 60 minutes?  When you go in what are you going in for.  To post encouraging quotes* or to join in the conversation of a “friend”.  If you don’t have a plan when you go into the social media networks, you may end up there much longer than you want to be and leave frustrated or feeling like you wasted time.

Try these powerful tips and you’ll have a more productive and enjoyable social media experience.  Whether its for your business or to build relationships.

*Try www.Hootsuite.com to post quotes simultaneously in LinkedIn, Twitter or Facebook.  You can also schedule unlimited posts or tweets.
